River Rafting
The
Sun Kosi or, 'River of Gold' is
rated one of the top ten river trips in the
world. The river rises near Shisha Pangma
in Tibet and runs eastwards, draining the highest
mountains in the world before emerging on
the plains of India, where it joins the Ganges.
Our journey takes us 270km through some of Nepal's
remotest regions giving you a unique wilderness
experience. A dream trip for rafters and experienced
kayakers the Sun Kosi combines pristine beaches,
warm water and the thrill of Himalayan white
water.

A Pre-departure meeting is held the evening prior
to your departure at our Kathmandu sales office,
6pm.
DAY 01 : 7 am meet - store
extra luggage. Breakfast, (not included). Drive
Sukute Beach Resort lunch . Safety briefing, raft
Upper Sun Kosi / Bhote Kosi Continuous class 4
rapids. Stay in Camping put in point of the Sun
Kosi.
DAY 02 : Breakfast - load
rafts - lunch. Depart
DAY 03 : Big class 4+rapids
"No exit" and " Meatgrinder".
Tama Kosi joins the Sun Kosi on the doubling the
volume of the Sun Kosi Camp located near a beautiful
Shiva temple overlooking the confluence.
DAY 04 : Several km below
the confluence of the Likhu Khola we negotiate
the, "Anxiety" series of rapids, including,
pre, post and "High Anxiety". Scout
and possible photo stop. Camp.
DAY 05 : Arrive at Harkapur
bazaar. Prepare to run one of the largest and
most difficult rapids on the river Harkapur II.
Camp beyond the confluence of the Sun Kosi and
Dudh Kosi, which drains Mt Everest.
DAY 06 : Rest day trek or
relax.
DAY 07 : "Jaws"
I, II & III', Rhino Rock, camp above the Jungle
Corridor.
DAY 08 : The "Jungle
Corridor" contains several kilometers of
continuous white water. Waterfalls
cascade down both sides of the canyon. It is a
remote and wild place demanding commitment.
DAY 09 : A relaxing morning
floating through stunning landscapes soaking up
the sun and watching the world go by. The Big
Dipper a fitting finally to the Sun Kosi.
Huge standing waves and a giant hole separate
you between the Himalaya and the northern plains
of India. After the confluence of the Arun
Rivers the foothills dramatically give way
to flat lands of the Terai and the take out point,
Chatra.
Day 10 : Drive Back
to kathmandu 10 hrs
