& Tour in Bhutan (12 nights 13 days )
Day 1 : Arrive Paro
Transfer to hotel. Evening visit to Paro market
and town. Overnight at the hotel in Paro.
Day 2 : Paro , Morning
drive the winding road northwest up the Pa Chu
(Paro River) to Drukgyel Dzong, the ruined fort,
which once defended this valley from Tibetan
invasions. Overnight in Paro.
Day 3 : Paro to Thimphu
Morning drive downstream along side the Pa Chu
(Paro River) to its confluence with Wang Chu
(Thimphu river) then up valley to Thimphu.Overnight
in Thimphu.
Day 4 : Thimphu
After breakfast, visit the Painting school where
centuries old art of Bhutanese paintings is
taught. National Library, the vast collection
of ancient Buddhist texts, manuscripts. Overnight
in Thimphu.
Day 5 : Thimphu to Genekha
Drive for 45 minutes to reach starting point
of the trek. Overnight in Genekha at 2800m.
Day 6 : Genekha to Gur
On trek the true communion with the nature starts
with alpine flora and fauna .
Day 7 : Gur to Labatama
The first pass symbolised by a huge cairns gives
a spectacular view of the whole 'Dagala' range,
meadheder's camp. Camp at altitude 4300m .
Day 8 : Labatama Halt
An excursion to any one of three lakes; 'Relitso',
'Hetso' and 'Jamatso'. Your treking escort will
reveal mystic stories about these lakes. Also
the day and place is ideal for trout fishing.
Overnight in the camp.
Day 9 : Labatama Halt
Extension to 'Sesto' and nearby lakes. Hike
to 'Sesto' is easy and interesting. The "Ahinsa"
(non violence) group can attempt climbing "Jomo"
a peak of 5050m.
Day 10 : Labatama to Panka
Walk for 20 minute upwards and later you will
have majestic view of Himalayan peaks during
descent. This point is around 4460m.
Day 11 : Panka to Talikha
This day entails the crossing of several passes,
each one more impressive than the other. Search
for different verities of Blue Poppy (June -
July) and mountain birds.
Day 12 : Talekha to Thimphu
& to Paro
Passing through alpine and mixed vegetation
, one reaches Talekha monastery and village
and once again Thimphu view is superb.
Day 13 : Paro Departure
Drive to the airport for flight to onward destination
after breakfast.
Trekking
& Tour in Bhutan ( 10 nights 11 days )
Day 1 : Arrive Paro
Transfer to the hotel. Overnight at Paro.
Day 2 : Paro
Paro sightseeing, visit to Ta Dzong, built in
17th century as a watch tower for Paro Dzong.
Day 3 : Paro to Thimpu
Drive to Thimphu, the modern capital of Bhutan.
About 7 km before Thimphu, on a breezy hilltop
rises Simtokha Dzong, Bhutan's most ancient
fortress. Overnight at in Thimphu.
Day 4 : Thimpu to Tongsa
Drive to Tongsa via Dochula pass (3,100m). From
this pass, on a clear day, one can have a superb
view of the highest peaks in Bhutan such as
Gangkar Puensum, table mountain, Jele Khang,
Masagang, Gangchey Ta. Overnight in Tongsa.
Day 5 : Tongsa to Bumthang
Morning visit to striking Tongsa Dzong, ancestral
abode of Bhutan's Royal family. Then visit the
Ta Dzong, built as watch tower to guard Tongsa
Dzong. Overnight in Bumthang.
Day 6 : Bumthang to Ngang Lhakhang
The trek begins . Trek route follows the Chamkhar
Chu river, coming across many villages and temples,
meadows, forests . Camp at the altitude of 2,900m.
Day 7 : Ngang Lhakhang to Ugyenchholing
A trail ascends gradually towards the Phephe
la pass, walking through the forests of junipers,
until you arrive at the pass at an altitude
of 3,340m. Camp at the altitude of 2,850m.
Day 8 : Ugyenchholing - Bumthang
Morning walk upto the Ugyenchholing Dzong. Visit
the Dzong and surrounding village, then drive
to Jakar (Bumthang) following the Tang Chu river
until arriving at main road. Overnight in Bumthang.
Day 9 : Bumthang - Punakha
Visit to Jambey Lhakhang, the monastery built
in 7th century by Tibetan King, Songtsen Gembo,
believed to be the re-incarnation of Buddha
of compassion. Overnight in Paro.
Day 10 : Punakha - Paro
Arrive Paro by lunch time. Evening take a stroll
around Paro market. Overnight in Paro.
Day 11 : Paro Depart
Drive to the airport for flight to onward destination
after breakfast.
